A woman with a scarf around her head and a shopping bag is sitting by a local fountain scrolling on her phone. Other people are visible in the background and birds wander around.
Two people are walking away from the camera down a cobblestone alleyway, with scooters parked on either side of them. The man is wearing a white shirt and carrying a red bag and the woman is wearing overalls and looking at her phone.

Europe is

Most European countries have a population where less than 3% claim a relationship with Jesus. Many Europeans can go their entire lives never interacting with a Believer of Jesus.

Europe is the intersection of world cultures. Now, the ongoing refugee crisis has brought the nations to the shores of Europe, making it more critical for world revival than ever before.

The economic, political, and immigration turmoil of the last decade have laid the foundation for Europeans to be ready to meet Jesus and his followers.

Jason is native German, ministering to the people of Frankfurt with GEM.

When asked, “Why Europe? Why Germany?” Here’s what he said.

Why Europe?

Hear from our workers about why they have chosen to live and work in Europe.

I met GEM missionaries in Frankfurt who modelled and shared the vision and mission of GEM and that had a deep impact in my life.

God invited my husband and me to join the mission to be catalysts for multiplying disciples and helping local churches to catch the vision.

We had become restless, hungry to get out of our comfort zones and to serve God in a greater capacity. God had sown some seeds in our heart about Cathrine's hometown, a small Swedish town with few Christians.

We were impacted by GEM's ethos of partnering with local churches and the emphasis on the personal well being of their missionaries. We have found the right 'home' for us as missionaries!

We are Church planting in a rural context and so for us we joined GEM to be part of something bigger, to be encouraged and connected in a wider way.

Reaching the Nations through Ministry in Europe

Could they even do this? If so, they wondered, then where? With whom would they partner? Would they be on their own, or would God lead them to like-minded co-workers?
